Pinterest Inspired DIY Frostef Candle Holders
Last weekend, I went to our church's womens' Christmas party, themed "Pinterest & Pajamas"! Our women's leader had picked out the CUTEST and very SIMPLE Pinterest inspired craft for us to do. As soon as I started, I knew I would have to share with y'all!
What you need:
- Glassware of your choice.
- 1 Cup Epsom Salt.
- 1 tbsp of Glitter.
- Mod Podge (or tacky glue).
- Small Sponge Brush.
- Hot Glue Gun.
- Ribbon / Twine.
- Small Decorative Pieces.
- Candles (size depends on your candle holder).
- Paper Plates / Newspaper
What You Do:
- Make sure you have all materials ready to go before starting. This includes having your paper plate or newspaper down, it can get messy REAL quick! Also, go ahead and mix your epsom salt and glitter together ahead of time. Leslie, our women's leader, had it mixed in a bowl for easy access.
- Use the sponge brush to paint the Mod Podge on your glass candle holder. I wouldn't recommend gobbing the glue on, apply a thin layer to avoid sliding.
- When adding the epsom salt / glitter combo; you can sprinkle or pour over the glue. Personally, I found that way to be a little more messy. So I recommend gently rolling the glass jar in the mixture. Don't press too hard, because the product will move and mess up what you're trying to accomplish.
- When decorating, you can add as much or as little as you'd like. My home is a mixture of modern and rustic touches, so I went for the burlap ribbon and a golden glittery reindeer for the center.
- Set it to the side to let it dry. Mine sat for a good 2 hours (when I left the party!!).
This is such an easy way to get "high end" looking decor, for a fraction of the cost! 🤑 All of these materials can be found at your local dollar store or Amazon if you don't want to leave the house!! These don't necessarily have to be "Christmas decor", I think they would be pretty to use at weddings or baby showers too!
