My Go To Springtime Makeup / Free Makeup

What's up guys and gals, I hope you've had an awesome week and are ready for the weekend!!  I know we have a few things going on, like getting to be a part of a surprise party on Saturday, which is pretty cool!  Then Sunday, of course is Mothers Day!  We're planning on heading down to Destin to spend the day at the beach!  So yeah, that's what we have planned!!

Not sure about ya'll, but here in the Panhandle the temps are steadily staying in the upper 80's to low 90's, and the humidity has definitely been kicked up a notch or two.  If you're in an area with high humidity then you already know that whatever you put on your face, its going to melt right off.  So I have narrowed my makeup down to a few basics that give me that "no makeup makeup" look!

Last Fall I got the Too Faced Just Peachy Palette, and I used it everyday.  After not using it during the winter, I pulled it back out a few weeks ago, and have been using it nonstop since.  The light peach colors are perfect for my light complexion.

A few months ago I got this Tarte blush in an Ipsy bag, and as you can see, it just flows so well with the eyeshadow palette!

On to eyebrows!  I actually got this Kat Von D Super Brow free from Influenster for testing and reviewing purposes.  Now let me say this, I had NO intentions to ever use or try a pomade.  However, when Influenster sends me something,  that product becomes my job.  SO, I tried it the first time.... HATED it.... It literally took me a whole week to get the hang of it. Now I LOVE it!!  No lie, that was probably the hardest product to apply.  Influenster sent me the shade Toupe, which is probably a smidge too dark for me, but I made it work!

Next up is mascara!!  I have been using the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara since last October, other than the short time that I was trying out the Smashbox Super Fan, and I can honestly say that this is my favorite mascara ever.  I got the first one free from the Marc Jacobs Ambassador Program,  but have since purchased another one!

I probably have 5 lipsticks that I keep in rotation, but only 2 for today.  The first one is a liquid lipstick from Covergirl,  it's the perfect nude for me.  Then the second one is a gloss that Burts Bees sent me.  Both can be worn separately,  but I love to pair the 2 together.

After going over my everyday makeup products,  it's not so much minimalist at all... 😜 Oh well! Lol anyway this is my everyday look!  I hope yall enjoyed reading about some of my most favorite products.  Be sure to check out the links below, you may find something that you like!!  Also, after you pass the links you'll find the winner of the Spring Nick Box giveaway!!

The Nick Box - Spring 2018!

Hey guys and gals!! Today is all about my most favorite subscription box!! 🤗 The Nick Box!! 🤗  This is actually my 5th Nick Box, which means I've been getting them for over a year now!!  For those that don't know, The Nick Box is a quarterly subscription, where you get exclusive Nickelodeon merch.  Each box is $50, and is supposed to have over $100 of 90's memorabilia inside.  The items are a hit or miss, only because there were a few of the cartoons from back then, that I just wasnt that in to.  Per the usual,  I will let the merch speak for itself!!

Oh, the infamous bouncy ball and screwdriver that belonged to Tommy Pickles.  I thought it was very creative how they pair the 2 as a notepad and pen.  I know that my kiddos as well as myself  will put this to good use as we are always needing to write something down!!

Man I just love Rockos Modern Life!  At first I thought this was going to be a little belt bag, and was slightly disappointed when I found out it wasnt.  When you unzip the pouch it opens into a tote bag.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to try to make it work as a belt bag though.

When they released the "spoiler" I honestly did not remember who the heck he was... so I had to go look him up.  Then I remembered after watching a clip on YouTube, with him in it.  This is Stoop Kid, from Hey Arnold!  I'm going to have to get some type of shelf to put all my little vinyl figurines on.

This one is kinda cool and kinda gross! Lol They made Stimpy a soap dispenser,  only the soap will shoot out of his nose!  Where I am immature and find this hilarious,  I know there are others that 0will be completely disgusted by it.

Ok, this is one that I will never use, so it will be going to my 10 year old son.  It's a finger skateboard, it also came with stickers to decorate it.  Ive mentioned this before in another post, but Rocket Power was really taking off as I was starting to "grow up".  I think I watched a couple episodes with my little brothers, but I was just never really into it.

Ya know, I LOVE AHHHH, Real Monsters, but I'm pretty sure I could've done without this sweatshirt.  For one, I can't wear this in public... I take that back, I could wear it in public, but I WONT wear this in public.  And secondly, its 80+ degrees in Florida.   So I would have put this in the Fall or Winter box, and put one of the Tshirts in the Spring box, but that's just me!!

And last but definitely not least, is a towel with Ren taking a bath on it!! Lol My kids keep asking me about the Ren and Stimpy stuff, and I tell them little bits about how funny they are.  And then they wanna watch it, and I'm like, uuhhhh..... nahhhh.... probably not! Lol

And that's all for the Spring Nick Box!  Overall, I love this box!  ACTUALLY,  I had accidentally ordered 2 boxes this quarter, which is really weird.  I checked my card and emails and it wasnt a mistake, I ordered 2.  SOOOO, I thought I'd give the other one to one of you guys!  The rules to enter are listed below.  But other than that I hope you enjoyed going through the Spring Nick Box with me!! Bye guys!!

Travel Diary - New Orleans.

Hello everyone, and Happy Friday!! If you follow me over on Instagram,  then you'll already know that Stephen and I were able to slip away for a of couple days.  Stephen made Winners Circle for the second year in a row!! Woopwoop!! This year Verizon send us to celebrate in New Orleans!!  So I thought it would be fun to tell you about our experience in The Big Easy.

Stephen's parents were kind enough to travel all the way from Arkansas, (a 10 hour drive...,) to Florida, to keep our kids for us!  We left out Thursday morning after we took the kids to school, and made it there around 1 p.m. Stephen said that if I didn't have to pee every 15 minutes,  we woulda made it there a little sooner!! 🤣

With it being lunch time, we already knew that we wanted to eat somewhere in the French Quarter.   Our pastor recommended Cafe Maspero, and considering that we didn't have any other recommendations,  that's where we went.    I'm so glad we did too.  I got the calamari plate and it was so amazing, the best squid I've ever eaten!  Stephen got the Muffaletta, it was ok, most Muffalettas are basically the same everywhere.

After we ate, we went to the hotel, checked in at the front desk, then checked in with Verizon.   They had one of the ball rooms  designated for all the winners and their guests.  Stephen and I walked around for a little bit, then went upstairs.  We left for the event around 5:30 p.m. and got back around 11 p.m. There was so much that happened in that day, we were so tired by time we got back.

Check-out was at noon, which was perfect timing for finding another place to eat at in the Quarter.  Friday was WAY busier than Thursday.  I'm pretty sure it took us an hour to find a parking spot,  and the ones that we did happen to find, Stephens truck was too big to fit in the space.  As soon as I said, "let's just go somewhere else, I'm tired of this" a spot opened!! Woohoo!!  We started our journey at the Jackson Brewery,  which was more like a mall.  My goal was to find the restroom and then find coffee, which, we did!!

While we were in the fudge-candy-coffee shop, the girl behind the counter recommended a few places to try out.  One of those places was Cafe Du Monde.  Her and our pastor suggested it, so we had to go there next!  All we knew was to ask for the Beignet.  So I went thinking, this is where we're going to have lunch.  However,  when we got there, Beignet, coffee, and water was all they served!! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 We already had coffee so we ordered the Beignet, one for each of us.  The lady brought them out and said, "that's $6, you pay now", 🙄 ok, Stephen pulled out his card, "cash only sir, no cards". 😳 uh, well, ha! "You go to ATM over there" and points to a store across the road.  Apparently we weren't the only people that didn't have cash!!  After we paid the lady she said, "ok, here your change, dont forget to tip for 2." And then we never saw her again.  🤣 The Beignet came out, and were so hot and fluffy and COVERED in powdered sugar.  I made a small joke as Stephen was biting into his, and he blew up a huge cloud of powder that left him looking like Tony Montana!! 😂 #sorrynotsorry They were so delicious though! They reminded me of funnel cakes,  only square shape.

We each had 2 Beignets and put the others in a doggy bag for later.  So then we walked from Decatur to Bourbon and everywhere in between.   At one point we were looking for a public restroom,  which there's not one.. if you ask a store they will tell you, "coffee shops or restaurants,  and you'll have to buy something".  🙄... Anyway, we found this little museum,  and the ladies there were really nice, and let us use their restrooms.   They were also telling us things to watch out for, amongst the locals. 1) Dont let them bead you, because they will expect you to pay them. She also mentioned how they get them out of garbage cans... 🤢 2) Dont carry anything in you back pockets,  because most of them have quick hands! 3) Eat at Kingfish!!  Which is exactly what we did!!  Well, we were on our way there when we had an encounter with "Dan Dan, the Shoe Cleaning Man" 🤣🤣 That's what he called himself!  He went up to Stephen and started talking about his shoes, then squirted some yellow stuff on his shoe. Stephen was like... 🙄... dude... you just put mess all over my shoe... Dan was like, "but look, I'm gonna clean it off". While im over here just laughing!! 😂 Stephen wouldn't let him clean it, so he walked around with mustard yellow stuff on his shoe!!

After we finally made it to Kongfish, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked on the inside.  A lot of the restaurants and shops look rundown and just terrible on the inside,  but this place has definitely been renovated.  AND, their bathrooms were nice as well!!  We already knew that we were going to be heading a little further north to visit with my cousin,  so we decided to get an appitizer and split an entire.  We went with the Risotto and Kingfish Burger.  Both were so good! I could have really gotten just the Risotto and been fine!

So, once we devoured our amazing lunch, it was time to head back to car, and make our way up to Maurpas.  This would normally be the part where I'd say, "and that's our experience in New Orleans ", but OHHH NOOOO... we're not done yet.  Once we made it to Stephens truck, we noticed a shiny yellow boot, on the tire... 🤦🏼‍♀️ 🤦🏼‍♂️ We were so confused, had we stayed for too long?  There wasn't a meeter...  We called the number on the huge  bright blue sticker that was on the driver side window, turns out, we didn't pay for parking.   There were huge signs that said, PUBLIC PARKING, (that didn't have the words PAY TO PARK)  Anyway, the guy came over to remove the boot, but we had to pay 90 bucks first... 😫... Apparently we weren't the only ones that got hit, there were yellow boots all over the parking lot.  Annnddd that's where the story ends.

Have you ever been to the French Quarter? What did you think? Did you like it?  Would you go back?  What is one experience that you had while there?  I hope you guys enjoyed this Storytime!  Also, I hope this helped some of you that may be planning a trip to The Big Easy, specifically the French Quarter.  I have a couple pretty cool things going on right now, so be sure to follow me across all of my social media outlets, their listed below!  Love yall!!

Earth Day Inspo!!

Hello and good morning from New Orleans!!  Right now we are enjoying the fruit of my husband's hard work, at Winners Circle,  but I still wanted to get this up today.

Did yall know that Earth Day is Sunday?  Well it is, and I thought it would be appropriate to incorporate Earth Day into my April Ipsy post, considering that everything I received was fairly minimal.  This month covered a large range of items, and not targeted towards one specific area of beauty products.

First off, let me point out that I freaking love this months bag! It's so cute, and so perfect for the spring.  I've been with Ipsy for about a year and a half, and I think there was only 1 bag that I just did not like.  This one is so fun and girly, and the flip side is lavender, which makes it trendy as well!

Alright, alright, alright!!  This right here is my new favorite body scrub!!  The brand is Pirlisse Beauty, and it's a Coconut Oil and Coffee Sugar Body Scrub!!  I mean, just by its name it sounds amazing, but it is actually amazing!  It smells delicious, if you're a coffee connoisseur like myself!  Can you see just how small this little tube is?  I used the whole thing in one shower, so I'm gonna need to go order the full size asap!

Second up is this smoothing radiance mask from, Laboratories Filorga.  The mask is infused with collagen and elastin, to hydrate, smooth, and soften your skin.  There were no instructions on how to use this product so, I just went with it! Lol After I applied the mask, it's like it soaked into my skin.  I left it there for about 10 minutes then washed it off.  I shed probably Google it!! Lol However,  it left my skin extremely soft!!  if you want your makeup to look good no matter what, then you need to have a good skincare routine no matter what!

Third in my bag is this shader brush from Royal and Langnickle.  I have used this tool twice.   It's okay, not fabulous,  but it will definitely get some use.  I used it to contour under my lip, down my nose, and in my crease.  It says it's good for packing,  but I feel like it's too fluffy.  It's also vegan and cruelty free.

This lip gloss from Dirty Little Secret in the shade Nude Beach is AMAZING!!  Its basically a clear gloss with the tiniest smidge of color in it.  I've had my bag for a week and a half now, and I have literally been using it nonstop!  I use it as a topper and alone.

This Pretty Woman Nailmedic nail polish was pretty cool.  It's infused with keratin and calcium to help strengthen and restore damaged nails your nails, which I need!  This formula helps protect your nails from pollutants and toxins.   Where this shade, "rise and slay" is a beautiful color, it is not very flattering on me.

This is my Earth Day Minimal look that I was able to create using the products that I received in this mo tha Ipsy bag!  I hope you all enjoyed today's post.  Have an awesome weekend and try to do something to help our Earth be cleaner!  Love yall!!

Prayer - Keeping it Real!

Daily prayer and devotion is such an important part of my life.  I can definitely tell if I dont pray and have a time of devotion everyday. My mood becomes very irritable and I just don't handle things to the absolute best of my ability.   If you read 9 Things You May Not Know About Us, then you'll know that I mentioned how I am somewhat of a hot head, whose loaded with sassy attitude, and everything gets on my nerves.  Where most people are praying for God to break chains of addiction from alcohol, to drugs, to perversion; im over here asking God to help me not throat punch the lady that sits behind me crunching on a peppermint.  Haha that's real life yall!!  I said all that to say, I HAVE to have a time to pray everyday, and I HAVE to spend time with the Father everyday.

Over the years, through scripture, through books, through preachers, through consistency, I have learned how to pray efficiently and effectively.  Now, I'm not saying that I'm a professional by no means,  but I will say this, my family and friends know who to call or text when they're in need of prayer.  Because they know that a shift takes place on their behalf.  So I wanted to share with you how I pray, but first you need to understand that no one prays the same, and not everyone is on the same spiritual level, and this is not me telling YOU how to pray.  This is me telling you how I pray, and it might help you in the process!

1. Find a quiet place.  A quiet place is a place that's free from distraction,; tv, computer, PHONE.  Personally I love to sit outside by the pool.  Before we moved here, I would sit on my couch in my livingroom.

2. Set a time. Set a time for undivided attention.   As a stay at home parent this can be tricky.  So I dont have a "set time", only nap time!

3. Sit in a certain position.  I've found that I have to sit on the concrete by the pool, not in a cushy chair.  If I'm comfortable then I usually fall asleep.

4. Play soft music.  By that I mean, no drums that i can tap my foot to.  No words that I can sing along with.  So basically an instrumental with a smooth flow.

5. Clear your mind.  After you've found your spot and got your soaking music going, write down your thoughts.  When I start praying i usually have 100 things going through my head at once; what's for dinner, does Stephen have clean work clothes for the next day, what i need to get from Walmart, ect. ect. So if you go ahead and write those things down it kinda tricks your mind and helps you to not think about them anymore, and then when you're done praying you'll know what needs to be done.

6. Ask to receive from Jesus.  Once my head is clear and my heart is open, then I am fully able to receive whatever it is that God is speaking to me at that specific time.  If you have an actual relationship with Yahweh, you can go into your prayer time without having to ask for specific things.  You can just ask Him to talk to you.

7. Listen.  At this point, be silent so that you can hear what God says to you.  Most times, He's whispering in my ear how much He loves me, and how beautiful I am, and how worthy I am.  Then other times He will drop a scripture in my spirit.

8. Think on a single verse.  Break it down.  Word by word.  Think on it.  Say it.  Sing it.  Pray it.  Ask God to give you a great revelation on it.  You know how sometimes you can read a scripture 99 times and see it one way, then that 100th time its totally different.  That's probably because you've been reading it wrong this whole time,  that is a great revelation!

9. Write it down.  For myself,  I know that if I dont write things down as they come to me, I will forget what was said.  With it being in writing you will be able to revisit what God had spoken to you in that moment, over and over and over again.

Prayer makes your spirit-man strong, which inturn makes you strong in the spirit.   So I want to encourage you to find your spot, make the time, and spend it with the Father everyday.  Also I want to encourage you to share this with your friends and family.  I love you guys so much, and hope you have a blessed weekend!

Solaris in Sandestin.

Good morning everyone!!  As most of you know, from last week's post, my husband and I just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary.  For those who do know us, know we ALWAYS have some kinda story to tell.  So I thought in today's post I'd share our experience on the Solaris.

So first off, i knew that we were going out to eat, but that's it.  Stephen REFUSED to tell me exactly where we were going and what we were doing for the night.  Before we left the house, he told me that we had reservations so we needed to hurry.  Well, halfway to Destin, the traffic was at a standstill.  Which traffic around here is already pretty terrible, and even more so with all the extra Spring Breakers in town.

Once we got to the Midbay Bridge Stephen called the place to tell them that we got stuck in traffic and to make sure they hadn't left us.  So right then I knew we were going on a boat.

After we got to the resort, got our car tag, and were so close to being there, Stephen missed his turn.  So we drove for several more miles that had looped us almost all the way back to HWY 98. Once we finally got to where we were supposed to be, a lady met us in the parking, and took us to the boat on a golf cart!

So, we finally make it to the Solaris,  and only THEN did I realize that it was a dinner cruise!! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Which, of course everyone is staring at us because we were the reason that they hadn't left yet... but from there, everything was smooth sailing!!

After we left the dock, they brought out water and fresh bread with a rosemary butter sauce.  I'm not even gonna lie, I ate all of it because I was starving!! 🤣

Not too much longer after they brought the bread, they served the salads.  For someone who is super picky about their ranch dressing,  this was actually really good!

For dinner I had the Mahi Mahi and shrimp with steamed veggies.  It was so delicious.  They had the Mahi Mahi on top of a bed of mashed potatoes,  which is not something that I would normally do or even expect.  But the mixtures of the flavors were just so good!!  Stephen had the Filet Mignon topped with Crab and steamed veggies as well.

We were also served a desert, but it was cheesecake,  and I dont do cheesecake.  So unfortunately I dont have a picture of that, but like the other food it was displayed to perfection.

There was definitely a time gap between salad and the entree.  So, we were able to explore the yacht.  The first floor was for dinning, the 2nd floor was the bar area, and the 3rd floor was an open deck.

Up on the top deck, there were beautiful views of and the sunset was stunning!

It was so nice to be able to actually talk to one another without being interrupted by kids.  Oh my goodness, to all the parents out there, you know what I mean!  Lol Anyway, overall, we had an awesome time together.  I would definitely recommend trying out a dinning cruise.  I hope you all enjoyed this post.  I know it's a little different, but that ok!  Love yall, and please share with your friends!!
