9 things that you probably didn't know about us.

When you wake up in the middle of the night and your brain is flooded with thoughts, do you just go back to sleep and handle it later?  No way!!  If I wait, I will for sure forget and become uninspired.  So here I am at 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning writing in my notebook, instead of sleeping.  Which in essence is a good thing for the procrastinator in me!

After being married for 9 years, which is basically a decade, 🤷🏼‍♀️ which is basically a lifetime, right?? 🤔... Stephen and I have experienced a lot over the course of our 13 years together.  With all of that said,  I thought I would  share 9 things that you probably didn't know about us.

- The Princess and The Po'Boy -

Stephen and I grew up in totally different lifestyles.  He grew up, not necessarily in poverty, he always had the basic essentials for life; food, shelter, clothes, ect...  His mom called it "penny pinching".   He said that if he ever wanted something extra, he would have to call his Pappaw.  Whereas, I grew up having everything a girl could ever want.  You know, the girl that had to have name brand everything, and wouldn't dare wear anything from walmart.  My dad gave me the nickname "Queenie", and every now and then he would throw in "Easy Money".

- Freshman Year -

Stephen and I met at college through a mutual friend.  Which I thought it was crazy that I didn't already know him considering that I partied with all of his friends.

- First Comes Love -

This one may be a little too much information for some, but I'm just being real!  But, Stephen was a virgin when we started dating.  Which is probably why he's so obsessed with me!! LOL jk Seriously though, I'm sure I would have been also, had it not been for alcohol.

- Then Comes Baby... -

For those who don't know us personally, we have been married for 9 years, but we have a son that will be 11 in May!

- Then Comes Judge Wright -

You read that Wright!... lol get it?? Anyway,  when Gavin was 6 months old Stephen and I split up for almost a whole year.  We never thought going into a custody battle would lead us to where we are today.<--- 6="" a="" actually="" almost="" and="" are="" court="" custody="" did="" exactly="" font="" for="" gavin="" get="" going="" i="" it="" know="" lead="" little="" lol="" months="" nbsp="" now.="" of="" old.="" our="" son="" split="" stephen="" that="" to="" up="" us="" was="" we="" were="" when="" where="" would="" year.="">

- Low Point -

I almost filed for divorce.  Stephen had started taking some type of supplements to help him gain muscle mass.  Well, it turned him into a totally different person, a person that I did not like, and a person that I never want to be around.  It definitely gave him the courage to think he could talk to me however he wanted.  I delt with him being a rude jerk for about a month, and I was like, nope... I ain't doin this.  Once he realized that I had had enough and that I was leaving, he quit taking said supplements and POOF the old Stephen was back!

- Long Nights -

There are 4 things that I need in order to get a good nights sleep; 1) It has to be cold. 2) a loud fan. 3) a body pillow. 4) Stephen!!  You laugh, but I literally cannot sleep if I can't put my leg or foot on top of his leg!  It's not very often that he's not home at night time, but for the nights that he is gone, I just can't sleep.

-  Voice of Reason -

I am most definitely the hot head in our relationship.  Like I had mentioned earlier, I am not the one to put up with crap for too long.  I grew up in a somewhat hostile household.  My parents were never just flat out abusive towards one another or us kids, but they did avarage about one good throw-down a year.  So, I blame it on learned behavior.  Stephen has more of a calm personality, so when I get upset or angry, he's always there to help me see the other side of things.

  - Photo Op -

After we were married, probably a year at this point, Stephen thought it was a good idea to take photos of himself... you know what I mean... So, he kept sending me pictures while I was in the other room.  Then I hear, "oh no, no no no, KRYSTAAAALLL!!"  Turns out he accidently posted one on facebook! LOL He was litteraly freaking out about it.  All I could do was laugh.  I mean, I was dying, it was so funny!  To add to his embarrassment, someone that we know personally text him and said, "having problems?!" LOL  So he deleted that account, told people that it was hacked,  and started a new one a few weeks later.  Needless to say, he no longer takes pictures of himself!!

As a young girl I was told, "marry a man with money".  Instead I fell for the cute guy in an 88' Hatchback Mustang.  I didn't marry a man with money, but I did marry a man that works hard everyday.  I married a man with character and integrity.  I married a man who would do anything to make me feel like a princess.

Honestly, I cannot imagine life without him.  I am so thankful for all the past hurt, because it lead us to who we have become and where we are at this very moment.  I'm not telling you this to brag, or to hear your judgemental comments. I'm telling you this because no one is perfect.  No relationship is perfect.  Everyone has problems, some just choose to not blast them all over social media.  The ONLY advice that I will give you, is trust the process.
