Living Here For A Year // Florida
After living in a renovation for 7 years, we knew that we didnt really wanna do anything when we moved into this home. Which, to be completely honest, this house doesn't really NEED any major changes. We actually felt like the outside was in more need of attention than the inside. And that's only because one of the previous owners had put rocks around the pool. With having 3 kids 😳 yeah it was not fun getting in there last December to get them out... I was just glad it's a heated pool.
In my opinion, I feel like whomever installed the pool, ran out of money mid project. There were a few things that I would have done differently. Like, where they filled in the areas with rocks, I would have continued with the pavers. On the back side, I would have continued the border to connect with the other side. 🙄... but that's just me!! 😃 On Stephen's off days he would constantly be doing things in the back yard. We are still not finished, this is just all we're doing this year. And in case you didn't know, landscaping is expensive, even when you're doing it yourself. This is the only "before" picture I have, which is after Stephen had already shoveled out all the rocks. Oh, and we pulled up the border the connected to the pool, and connected it to the other side. W
On the inside, we really haven't done much, again it doesn't really need it. I already told yall about the laundry room Update in an earlier blog post. You can read that here.
Then, my Father inlaw helped install our pallet wall on the back side of our bar. It turned out so beautifully. Now we're collecting more pallets to put in our bedroom, behind our bed! I'm pretty excited about that!!
That's all we've done so far. We still have not decorated any rooms. I know there are a few things that I want to do, but those are like, multiple thousands of dollars kinda jobs. Like the kitchen! I prefer white cabinets, ours are brown. I would prefer a lighter countertop, ours is brown. I haven't painted any walls, except for the laundry room, because I need to fill in the nail holes from the previous owners. OH, and we have popcorn ceilings, I want to have those scrapped. In all the closets the shelving is this cheap wire type shelves. I want to replace all of it! 🤣 but I try not to complain, because I am extremely thankful and blessed to be here.
And this is where I'm going to leave you! I hope you enjoyed today's post. If yall have any cool home DIYs that I could use, let me know, yall know I like to save as much as possible!
