Walk The Walk // Encouragement
Sometimes when I have procrastinated with my writing and just have not been able to put pen to paper, I always say to myself, "meh, no one really cares if I put out a new blog post. So it'll be ok if I skip a week." 😳 Then as I'm playing around with the self portrait clicker thing on my new phone, I came across this photo and the Lord just started speaking to me about walking that thin line. Not for me to neccesarily pass on a message to those around me, but He was speaking straight to me as a child of God. Basically, He got on to me for allowing myself to get complacent in my relationship with Him and in my walk.
I wholeheartedly felt the conviction and the correction from Holy Spirit in that moment. So there I stood in my front yard, repenting, "God forgive me, help me to do better!" It's not like I had fallen into some gross sin, it's just that I had gotten to a place where I only spoke to Him when we were blessing our meals. And not having my daily devotional time like I use to, but only reading the verse of the day that popped up on my phone every morning at 8am. Spending more time on Facebook, rather than spending time in His book. I had gotten routine. I had gotten stale. I had gotten comfortable. I had gotten LUKEWARM.... My heart was broken.
"But since you are like lukewarm
water, neither hot nor cold, I will
spit you out of my mouth!"
Revelation 3:16
Like the plants in your flower bed, if you neglect them, don't water them, don't protect them from the storm, they will die. Same for your spiritual walk. If you're not intentional with praying, if you're not intentional with your devotional time, your spirit man will die. People, that is not a good place to be. We have to be intentional with our walk. All He wants is a relationship with you. God is a gentleman, He will never pressure you to spend time with him. He only wants for you to WANT to spend time with Him. You say, "Krystal, I don't know how to do that." Yes you do, it's is the Word 📖 The Bible is where you find Him.
"In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and
the Word was God." John 1:1
If we, as a body of Christ believers, the Church, the ekklesia, are going to talk the talk, be sure that you're walking the walk. If we're going to raise our hands in praise, be sure to bow your hearts in humility. We are all called to live a life of His righteousness. We are all called to be different, to be set apart.
