Sweat It Out // Health & Wellness

Hello everyone! It's been quite some time since I've spoke on health and wellness. And since I'm on a new gym journey, I thought I'd update you on how it's going, and give you a few tips on why it's so important to sweat!

While we were working on selling our home in Arkansas, I kinda put the gym on the back burner. And needless to say, that was a huge mistake on my part. I really should have tried to make time,  but that's neither here nor there.

Once we started to get settled in our home here in Alabama, probably around middle of June-ish.. I had to force myself to try and get a routine started. Per my usual,  I found the treadmills. They're not my favorite, but at least it was a start. I went a total of about 8 times in 2 weeks. Then one afternoon we took our pups to a wellness checkup with the new vet. While we were waiting on the Dr. I stood on their scales... to say I was blown away, was an understatement... it said I weighed 165lbs...😳 umm excuse me what?! I hadn't weighed that much since I was pregnant... I was like no no no... And that's what kicked my butt in gear!

When I got home I wrote down that weight and took my measurements. From then I started documenting every month so that I could keep track of my progress. So over the past 4 months, with a combination of lifting weights 3 days a week & cardio 3 days a week I have lost 9 lbs, so now I'm at 156lbs. I've lost 2 inches in my bust; 3 inches in my waist; & 2 inches from my hips.

Heres where I want to help you (if you're on or want to start a healthier lifestyle)!! For the past 2 months my weight has been the same, but I've lost inches! I learned years ago that you can't only rely on scales, you have to keep track of your measurements too. If I didn't already know to write down my measurements, I would've been so discouraged by what the scales said. But since I had it on paper for my eyes to see, it was easier for my brain to understand that I was definitely making progress. So I'm not just killing it at the gym 5 days a week for nothing.

From the moment you start working out, major transformations are happening in your body. Even if you can't see it, things are changing. Just stick with it, don't give up, trust the process. And for the love of God, document monthly.

I saw this the other day from somewhere, and thought it might help someone.. 👇🏻

Here are seven awesome things that happen when you sweat it out:
1. Blood flow to your brain makes you think more clearly.
2. Your post-workout glow lasts even longer.
3. Healthy bacteria in your gut balance your digestive system.
4. Your sex drive improves.
5. Stress and anxiety are reduced.
6. You crave healthy food.
7. You sleep better.

I really hope this has encouraged someone today! (Also I wanted to add... I'm not a Dr., nutritionist, or anything like that. This is just my story and what works for me!) And with that, I love yall and hope you have an amazing weekend!!
