Ways To Stay Fit At Home / Health And Wellness
Hey y'all, Happy Friday!!! Actually I guess at the moment that doesn't really matter!!😅 We are ALL suffering in one way or another, but I'm here to help you keep your mind right!! In a way.😂 Today I wanted to share with you ways to stay fit, even when we can't go to the gyms right now. **cough cough, thank you coronavirus**
To be completely honest, I have NEVER been a "gym" person. One of those reasons is because I have kids, and most gyms don't offer childcare,, so I just never went. Now my husband on the other hand, he makes it a point to go at least 4 times a week, sometimes more. When we moved to Hot Springs, the gym that Stephen found, offered CHILDCARE!!!😃 That was so exciting for me, because it allowed me to do something with my husband that he really enjoyed. ☺
Now, if you'll remember, back in August / Septemberish timeframe, I really started hitting the gym hard and focusing on toning my arms, (you can read all about that here ). But today I wanted to share with you things that you can do at home, since we're all stuck there right now!!
As most of you already know, I am a Zumba Fitness Instructor, and have been for almost 5 years. So that's where I wanted to start. I may be biased, but i think dance is one of the best overall full body workouts. It makes you sweat and allows you to work all of your muscle groups. Which ultimately helps you lose the fat and tone the muscles at the same time.
Now please keep in mind that I am NOT an exercisey person at all. I really struggle with weights, and push-ups were created by satan himself... However, a couple months ago I decided to change up my routine a little bit, and started going to a group fitness class called Toughen Up. It was definitely a class that I could handle. I would say it's a bootcamp style mixed with aerobics. I have done my best to give you a visual of some of the techniques that we use in class. Sometimes we use different tools such as dumbbells, balls, rubberband things, and theres a bubble that kicked my butt one day!!😅 The only one of those listed above that I actually have at home, are 2 5lb dumbbells!! Lol
YouTube is great for finding at home workouts, you just have to figure out what it is that you like doing. If Yoga is more your speed, my friend Hannah teaches that here. Some of the instructors from my gym are doing Facebook Lives with different classes like barre and some other HIIT type classes you can check those out here. Then theres always the easy stuff, like running down your road!!🏃♂️🏃🏼♀️ Just dont give up, we will be back to normal hopefully sooner than later. I love ya and I'll see ya soon!!
