Back To The Basics // Encouragement

I've really been feeling in my spirit, God is telling me it's time to get back to the  basics! And I very clearly understood what He was saying to me, but I thought he was dealing with me, like my own self. Normally if God is speaking to me about ME, I keep it to myself. So I've been in prayer about it for weeks now, and a few days ago I felt a release to share with you.

When you think about the day you first got saved, do you remember how you felt? Do you remember the zeal, the passion?! The overwhelming feeling of love?! I do! And this is the area where  I thought God was dealing with me. That i had, kinda lost that fire. I wasn't in prayer like I used to be, I wasn't in the Word like I used to be. Have you ever heard your preacher say, "get off Facebook, and get in THE book!" 😳 Yeah, thats exactly what I needed to do! I would find myself getting so caught up in the news, and FYI, I've never been someone who keeps up with the news...

But God,, what does it mean to go back to the basics?... Then He took me back to the place where I first made the commitment to live my life for the Lord. I was 22 years old, in a little church in Prescott, Arkansas, and when I went to the alter and surrendered my heart, I knew that I would never be the same again! Now, I'm not goin to say it's been a bed of roses, by no means. There have definitely been times of hardship, slip-ups, and breakdowns; and there still are to this day....

But the point is, where is your "back to basic"? Where it all started, close your eyes and go back to that place. Go back to that moment in time, because that was the start of your foundation. That's where you started to build your personal relationship with the Father. I know for me, I wasn't the kid who was raised in church,  so I had a lot to learn; and still do, but I had to learn the basics first. I remember I was an aid in a preschool, and during nap time, I was reading, for the first time, about the significance of the rainbow 🌈  I mean, I had to learn at an elementary level first to get the full understanding. Am I making sense?...

What I'm Wearing

When you strip away denominations and individual thoughts and opinions, and the church pollitics, what's the number 1 thing that's most important?... LOVE!! We have to get back to a place of love. If we, as Christians, can't put differences aside and love like the Father loves, then how are we to expect the others to do that?
We are called to be an example, the salt of the Earth. Our words are not good enough, you have to follow up with actions. Actions speak louder than words. So not only do we need to speak love, we need to SHOW love! We have to be intentional with being better humans.

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."
1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7

We have to check our hearts daily.
Are we truly walking in love?
