Summer Trends 22021 // Fashion
Would you consider yourself to be more classic or trendy when it comes to fashion? Or maybe a little of both, like me?! I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I usually lean more towards the classic side. Although, I still like to sprinkle in a few "trendy" type pieces. Today I'm sharing which current trends I'm on board with, and which ones I'm just not..
Hot Goth! Not gonna lie, I'm kinda low-key into this one! Only I tend to go mild on the goth. Like, more edgy or tough girl style. I would suggest investing in a leather biker jacket, or faux leather if that's your jam. Genuine leather is more expensive, which is why I said "invest". Also they will last forever if you take care of it!😉

Let's start with my most FAVORITE!!! Monochrome Black & White!! If you've been following for any bit of time, then you'll know pretty much all I wear is black & white! Lol I actually try to not wear it SO much, I just can't help myself. And I just dang love that this is trending right now!! To be honest you probably already have these pieces in your closet. 👉🏻 black blazer, black pants, & a white button-down 👌🏻
Yellow Bags! I was kinda shocked with this one! Like, really?!!🤷🏼♀️ A few years ago mustard yellow was the "it" color for Fall. So when I found this particular bag, (I'm pretty sure at TJMaxx when we lived in Florida), I grabbed it!
Wide Leg Pants! Honestly who doesn't love a good pair of wide leg pants?! If worn correctly, these are 1 piece that will elevate your entire outfit real quick. You can wear heels or flats, just be sure that they cover your shoe, and hit right above the ground / floor. You don't want them too short, but you don't want them dragging the ground either, that's not cute!😉
Stripes! I really don't think stripes go in & out of style. Look at the pinstripe, it's a classic, it will always and forever be "in style". I think it's the layout or pattern of the stripes that go in & out of style. What I'm seeing right now is the 90's stripes. To all my 90's kids, (I'm thinking 70's too right??) you know what I'm talking about! I remember having several shirts with colorful horizontal stripes, but they were all different, and I knew which was which!!😅 Now as adult, I have toned down the colorfulness!!
Trends I won't be wearing... You win some and you lose some right?! The few listed below are trends that I will not be wearing this summer!
The "new" brallette. This is definitely not one that I'll be wearing. I just can't get on board with wearing a bra as a shirt. I mean I can do crop tops, but that's about it!
Sequins is a NO GO for me!! Unless I can find subtle sequins that's made of good quality, and isn't itchy!!😬
Netwear.. They've taken the fishnet hoes, and turned it into a dress. Maybe I could see that more as a swimsuit cover up, that might be cute, but only for the beach!!
Platform loafers / Tractor Trek-Sole Boots.. These are probably in tight now because of the "hot goth" trend. No. No. No. I will stick with my combat boots, thank you!!
Maxies. It's not that I don't like them, I actually LOVE them. However, I'm not cool enough to wear them. I've tried on SEVERAL, and they just do not look right on me. 😩
