Who Do You Think You Are?

As much as you think that you may know someone by their reputation, you don't really know their character. As the old saying goes, "Once you get to know someone, then their true colors start to show." Reputation is what others believe to be true about you. Character is who you really are. I just wanted to tell you today to guard yourself. Our integrity, character, and witness are treasures that need to be guarded at all cost.

 Guard through the Holy Spirit who lives in us, that good thing entrusted to you. 2 Timothy 1:14

Iv'e titled this "Who do you think you are?", because I feel like sometimes, as Christians, we forget who we are, and who is in us. I know that when I get upset or frustrated, my husband is always there to say, "don't forget who you are, whose you are, and who your representing." Just because your having a bad day or maybe something isn't going your way, doesn't mean that you can act any ole way, or say whatever you want and expect it to be okay. The Bible tells us;

 "let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God-truly righteous and holy.... And don't sin by letting anger control you. Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the Devil." (Ephesians 4:23-27)

The outside world is watching and taking notes. They are just waiting for you to slip up, make a mistake, get angry, lash out. The Word says that Satan is the god of this world, (2 Corinthians 4:4) and that he's like a lion waiting to pounce on his prey. (1 Peter 5:8) So, I encourage you to put on your Armor of God, guard yourself, and don't give a foothold to the enemy.
