Road Trip πŸš— Huntsville, Alabama

Last weekend Stephen and I took a weekend road trip to Huntsville, Alabama for a work thing on Saturday  & Sunday. We ended up leaving Friday afternoon so that we could hangout and actually enjoy the trip! And y'all know I have to share a little bit of what we did, and of course what we ate 🍽

Like I said we left out πŸš— on Friday afternoon and arrived to our hotel around 8ish.. About 2 hours before we got there I Googled places to eat near the hotel; and we narrowed it down to a place called Connors. It was a Friday night and the earliest available reservation was like 9:45, which was fine because we still had a couple hours of drive time and it would allow us a chance to refresh!

We stayed at the Home2 Suites by Hilton  πŸ’ We stayed at this specific one about 6 months ago, (again, a work thing!) Then at the one in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee when visiting my brother, and we really like this chain of hotels. The rooms have a small kitchen area that includes a fridge almost as tall as me, a sink, microwave, and dishwasher. Along with cups, plates, etc... etc... Kinda like a mini size condo!
The wait time for our dinner reservations was WELL worth it! We started with fried calamari 🀀 hands down the BEST calamari I've ever eaten in my life! Normally calamari is thin like onion strings, these were huge! πŸ˜… (and I didn't take a picture...😩...) Stephen ordered a 14oz ribeye and fries. The little bit that I tried was pretty good, a little too undercooked for my liking. He's a medium-rare guy, I'm more of a medium girl!!πŸ˜‰ I went for the Alaskan snow πŸ¦€ crab!!! Now, I'm use to the snow crab that I buy from Sam's, so when I saw how big these suckers were, I about fell out! Lol I swear they were as big around as a half dollar and they had spikes.. I'm convinced that they were related to Bowser...
Since we went a day early and had time to hangout and enjoy the city that we were in, I looked up a few blog posts on things to do there. The top 3 most popular things included the πŸš€ Space Center, πŸ₯ΎπŸ₯Ύ outdoorsie stuff, and 🍻 breweries. After looking into the Space Center, we figured that'd be best to do with our kiddos. We didn't pack with hiking in mind. So we settled on checking out the local breweries; please keep in mind, there are a ton in Huntsville!
We had Chuy's for lunch, because πŸ˜‹ YUM!! I love their chips, salsa, & ranch dip so much I don't even have to get queso! Stephen and I split a quesadilla, (they come in 4 individual pieces). Before we left we asked our server where she recommended us to go. She gave us 3 different places, and after looking them up we went with Campus No. 805.
Campus No. 805 was such a cool concept. They took an old Jr. High Campus and turned into a business, so to speak. They rent out the "classrooms" or spaces to different people who own a business, kinda like the mall.. There are multiple restaurants, breweries, a coffee shop. The principles office had been turned into a 21 & up only lounge with a bar and pool tables. The gym held these huge brewing barrels, and the lobby area of the gym was a restaurant called "Straight to Ale". Up on the 3rd floor there was a tattoo shop. There was a dance studio and an axe throwing place. There was even a CPA office!  (This school was WAY bigger than the one I went to..). They kept the "school" theme throughout; it was just a very unique experience overall.

After lunch and spending a couple hours walking the campus, we decided that we both needed a nap!!πŸ˜… And considering that we had dinner reservations with Stephens team later that evening, we went on back to the room for some rest.😴 (we must be getting old!!πŸ˜‚).

Since we were going to be around people that we weren't familiar with, I thought it would be kinda awkward to take pics of them and our food, so I didn't get any pics that night. Other than an outfit mirror selfie before we left. The restaurant we ate at was called Kona Grill, and omg everything we had was DELICIOUS!!🀀 I had the Sweet-Chili Salmon. Stephen had the Seabass.

During the day on Sunday, was the "work thing". That was over roughly around 4-5ish.. We were invited to one of Stephens' coworkers house that evening. He was trying to teach Stephen how to drive a motorcycle. Not gonna lie,, it was quite humorous!πŸ˜… Only because the bike was the guys wife's bike, so it was small in proportion. I told him he looked like Lloyd in Dumb & Dumber on that little moped!πŸ˜‚

Anyway, we made it back home 🏑 on Monday afternoon.  And that concludes our weekend road trip!! If anyone goes to Huntsville, I definitely recommend doing everything in this post!! See yall next week!
