House Hunting 🏡 In Huntsville, AL.

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I wrote about mine and Stephen's weekend trip to Alabama?!... WELL the "work" part was us looking at houses!!😃 And now that we've officially sold our house in Arkansas, and are currently living in Alabama, I thought I'd share a few of the properties that we're looking at!!
Looking at houses online will give you a good idea of the highlights of the property; but once you walk through the doors and get a feel for the flow and functionality of that home, you won't know if it's going to be a good fit for your family.

Some of these houses that I'm sharing today, we have had saved on the Realtor app, and had looked at for a while just wondering why they're still sitting. It wasn't until we got to see them in person that we fully understood the "why".  Disclaimer... by time I thought about writing this some of these properties were sold, so I missed getting more pics.. sorry..

This first house I had saved for a while. I really liked this one. It was in a beautiful established neighborhood where all the houses looked so elegant and stately! Some of the rooms were completely updated where others were stuck in the 80's. However that would allow me to put my hands to good use! Lol The kitchen had really nice appliances with granite countertops, and a huge L shaped island. The livingroom was pretty small, I didn't show it here because there wasn't a true "Livingroom" picture online. All the bedrooms were upstairs, and I'm thinking they were all painted in a pale yellow. The backyard was ok. The pool deck really needed to be pressure washed, and the privacy fence needed to be completely replaced. Overall, this was my favorite property that we looked at that day.
The 2nd one we went to was not my favorite, I didn't like the outside of the house. Honestly, I didn't send this one over to our agent, Stephen did! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 I thought it was strange how the right side was protruding out compared to the left side.. idk, it just looked weird! ANYWAY, once we got there our agent couldn't get the lockbox to open. When she called the other agent, he didn't answer, so unfortunately for Stephen, we didn't get to view this one!
This 3rd property was the one I was most excited to see!! It was on a cul-de-sac, it had almost a whole acre, everything in the pics looked perfect! But then we got there, and I just wasn't feeling it... The backyard was huge, but it went straight down the middle of like 10 neighbors backyards, so there was 0 privacy. And all the rooms felt super cramped. The open kitchen & livingroom felt like an apartment. After we left I said, "Stephen is it crazy that I liked the first house better than this one?..."🤷🏼‍♀️

We were on our way to this next property when the sellers agent called to say that the sellers refused to show the house... Apparently the house was already under contract, and something about "first buyers right" or something like that. IDK it was annoying because this was another one that we had been keeping an eye on. We knew the house had some quirkiness to it, but it had 2 acres, and it was on a lake. Like literally the lake was in the backyard. There was a boat dock and all!

The next property, omg the whole outside of the property was landscaped to perfection!!😍 The flower beds were bursting with color, the backyard was just as beautiful as the front. They already had the raised garden beds that were producing. The pool house, NOT EVEN KIDDING, was the same size as our first home, literally 1,200sqft!! The house was nice on the inside, HOWEVER... there's always a however...lol To get to the upstairs, which included 2 other bedrooms and a bathroom, you had to go through the garage... Stephen and I were both like, that's why it's been sitting for a couple months. This layout would be for a specific family situation.
This next property was pretty cool. It was almost as big as our Hot Springs house, I loved the huge floor to ceiling windows and 3 acres, which is ultimately what drew me to it! All of the appliances were top notch. There really was no flow at all. The rooms were very choppy. There were 3 dining rooms and 3 livingrooms. And I am very confident that I could take on the challenge, but Stephen wasn't completely sold on the idea of another house with projects!! Lol
I know this was kinda long, but honestly I think I could make a living going in houses and giving my opinions on them! Wait.. is there such a job?!! Like a "house reviewer"?? 😃 If there is, sign me up! I hope y'all enjoyed looking at a few properties with me.  I'll see you next week!!
