👗 Fashion Trends We'll See in 2022
Hello everyone!! Now that we're in December, and the new year is right around the corner, it's time to start getting your closet prepared for what's to come!!😃 If you're into that, of course. Today I'm going to be sharing with you some of the trends that we're going to be seeing more of in this upcoming year.
And just an fyi, I do this for fun. I love fashion and I really enjoy writing. Staying in the know about fashion is like a sport to me. For instance, my husband loves football. He knows all the rules, can tell you all the stats on the players, and he keeps up with the guys going from college to professional, blah blah blah... Me personally, I could care less about sports. If I'm gonna watch a game I would need to be there in person and it would need to be basketball or baseball. Not to be confused with baseketball!! (Show of hands, who remembers that movie?!!😅) Anyway, it's just for fun, please don't get offended by what I think, because at the end of the day my opinion doesn't matter!
Nostalgia. Yes that's a thing! 😉 Y2K is in full swing!! Think low rise jeans, beaded bracelets, fuzzy bucket hats... Butterfly tops.... Some of the y2k fashion I can handle, but not all of it! I'm still on the hunt for a pair of low rise jeans. I'm not sure if I can pull them off now that I've had 3 babies, but I'm still willing to at least try them out!! The beaded bracelets threw me for a loop though... They're not just for kids, they're for adults too! Lol Funny thing is my 10 year old has started making these bracelets and selling them to her classmates. She's made me a few, and of course I wear them because it was a gift from her!
Mini skirts, but In a tasteful style. I love to pair them with tights and otk boots for winter. They can also easily transition into the warmer spring / summer months.
Clutches are here in a big way. Bottega Veneta pretty much started this trend when they released their pouches... (You tell me what that looks like!😉🙃😂) However, Fendi has now released the Fendi First; which is kinda similar, only the top is an F. It's much better, but it's still not my favorite. There's also been some crossbody & top handle bags that are being worn as a clutch. You just have to find the one that works for you and your personal style.
Metallics. Metallics are normal for the winter months, because well... Christmas / New Years. Next year they're being carried into the springtime as well. All colors are included in this, no exclusions.. Personally, I don't think I'll be participating in this trend🙅🏼♀️ Here's an example of what I'm talking about!!👇🏻
Fringe... lol STILL.... On going from last year, fringe is still hanging around. Going forward Ive noticed it's definitely more on the evening wear, more so than casual everyday wear. Still, I just don't think I can jump on board with this one.
Catsuits🐈⬛ Reminds me of 80's aerobic wear! Kinda like a romper, but skin tight.. yikes... I think I'd have to wear a blazer or coat with it, and probably a belt... I don't know if I'd have the courage to wear something like that in public though.
XXL bags I guess everyone is getting tired of the tiny bags!! 😅 This is another trend I think I'll skip out on. I can't imagine lugging a huge bag around with me like I'm Santa Clause. Now I do have a tote bag that I use as a "church" bag, but I don't use it daily.
Platform heels... This goes along with the y2k fashion trend.Think Bratz dolls.. From what I've noticed Versace has been the one paving the way for this trend as of late with the Aevitas platform heels. Which, I'm sure you know, all the other brands have been releasing their own versions too. I'm not a fan.. I think I'll always be a "classy heel" kinda gal!!👠
Bras as tops..🙄... STILL....🤦🏼♀️ This again, is still lingering around for some reason... What I want to know is, who is actually wearing their bra as a top IN PUBLIC?!!....🤷🏼♀️ I do not understand...
