Fall Staples // Fashion

Is it just me, or did the temp seem to drop a smidge over the past few days??!! With it being the unofficial end of summer..😭 I figured that i would get a jump start on my fall wardrobe. If you've been following me for any length of time, then you'll know that I love fashion. I also love adding a few new pieces to my collection each season just to freshen it up.

Now, I'm not the most "trendy" person in the world, because I really don't like a lot of the "at the moment" trends. However, I do like to incorporate some of the trending items into my existing wardrobe. A few weeks ago I did a major overhaul on my closet to see what needed to be replaced, trashed, or donated. And to see what I was lacking for the upcoming season.

After looking online and in the department stores, I've found a few must have, trendy items that are actually wearable that are not too crazy, over the top, in your face kinda stuff!! I'm pretty sure some of these have been hanging around for a few years now. and I know that these fall staples that will carry you straight into the colder months of winter! One of my favorite places to shop is Tjmaxx, because you can find some great pieces at a fraction of the cost. Everything that I'll be talking about today was found at my local Tjmaxx store. AND my entire outfit was under $100 🤑

Let's talk about knitwear! Seeing knitted sweaters and cardigans in the stores is a for sure sign that fall is upon us. Besides your plain-Jane creams and oatmeal chunky knits, what I've been seeing a lot of is color blocking and leopard print. I chose to go with this color block sweater, simply because I already have a ton of leopard print and thought that I needed to add something a bit different that wasn't too far outside of my comfort zone.  No matter what your style is, nobody likes being cold, so knits are the way to go! This sweater was $30.

One of the things that I don't really buy a lot of, are jeans. I guess i just take really good care of my denim, so I will only get a new pair every now and then. I found these destressed jeans for only $17, so I had to at least try them on. They fit so well, that I couldn't not get them. And for that low of a price? Cha-ching!!🤑 I know that I will get a lot of wear out of these this fall, winter, and even on into next spring!

BOOTIES!!😃 I think I'm most excited about the booties!! After I finally got my closet organized to the point that I could see what I had, I noticed that I didn't have a pair of brown ankle booties. So when I found these for only $20 I had to scoop them up real quick! Where I don't think we're quite ready for over the knee boots just yet, I know that I will have to keep my eyes peeled for a new pair of black OTK boots before the temps really start dropping!! (Rocko chewed up the heel on the pair that I've had for the past 4 years...)

Of course there are other trends out there at the moment, but I'll save those for another day! I really hope you enjoyed todays post, and be safe this holiday weekend!
