Believe Beauty // Review + Giveaway
Good Morning!!! 😀 How's everyone doing this Friday?! So not only am I doing a full review on new makeup, but I'm also going to be giving one of you a makeup bag full of goodies!!!😀👏🏻🎉 To be honest, I have recorded me using these products twice already, but with my phone not having enough internal storage, it won't allow me to save the edited video...😫
The other day I was in my local Dollar General, and found the Believe Beauty makeup line. And with intentions of recording a first impressions video for my YouTube channel, I bought everything you would need for a full face. Since that fell through I decided to go ahead and write up a review on all the products that I used. Some things didn't work for me, some, I'm still using 4 weeks later! (Yes I tried doing this WEEKS ago...) With all of that said, let's get into the goods!!
The line did have primers, but I've found that all primers break me out, so I chose to not purchase that. Since I was in a Dollar General, I wasn't able to test out which foundation I needed, I had to wing it and grab one that I thought was closest to my skin. Turns out I'm terrible at that!! 😂 Both the foundation (neutral tan) and concealer (light beige) were a bit too dark, but I made it work anyway!
The foundation is "skin finish medium to full coverage". It went on great and left a more natural finish. The concealer was also a thumbs up for me! Other than the fact that I should have went a shade or 2 lighter, it covered all of my breakout spots caused from trying a different product.
They had 3 different setting powders. 2 were colored and 1 was translucent. Personally I was scared that the translucent powder would cause flashback, so I chose to go with the "matte blur loose powder in light medium". I applied is like I would normally apply a setting powder. It held up great. I didn't notice that it settled into any of my fine lines. Also, it is definitely a matte finish.
While I was rummaging through their selection, I had grabbed a contour, a blush, and a highlighter all in individual pans. Then I realized the colors that I had picked out were all in 1 compact. So I decided to get the 3 in 1 to save a little coin. There were 2 or 3 little trios, I went with the light medium one. The contour went on beautifully, it blended out like a dream! The blush was very pretty on as well. However, it was EXTREMELY powdery, with loads of kickback. I loved the highlighter on, it left a subtle glow with the ability to build up.
On to eyes!! There were 4 or 5 eyeshadow palettes, all were different color schemes. I picked the one that I would most likely wear on a day to day basis, which was the "Nearly Nude" definitely more warmer tones. There are 6 colors. 2 mattes, and 4 shimmers. They were pretty pigmented, especially the rust-brown color. I found that the shimmers apply easier with the finger. My favorite shimmer is the one on the bottom right, it's so dang pretty!!😍
Considering that I have 10 black mascaras, I opted for a brown one! Much to my surprise, I really liked it! I've never used a brown one before, however, I think I'm going to start. There were 3 different types of mascaras I went with the volume one. It applied amazingly, and left no clumps. The formula was right in that sweet spot where it wasn't too wet or too dry!
Since I went with a brown mascara, I decided to go with a brown eyeliner. This eyeliner is PERFECT!! I was able to put it in my waterline with 1 hand! 😀 That usually never happens! It was so creamy it just glided on without tugging or pulling. It's also retractable so you don't have to sharpen it! There was liquid eyeliners, but I'm terrible with those so I didn't pick up one of those.
Now to lips!!👄 I picked up 5 lippies to try out. I got 3 lipsticks, 1 liquid lipstick, and 1 gloss! And I have nothing but good things to say about all of them!! 😍 Obviously I picked out the colors that I would wear on any given day, so all of them are in the pinky-nude family. Yes they offer other colors, but I'm more than likely to not wear red or burgundy everyday.
All 3 lipsticks are in a satin crush finish. They al felt awesome on the lips and looked beautiful as well. I got Vintage Romance, Soft Rose, and Moroccan Spice. I have been wearing their liquid lipstick everyday since I first tried it! It's a velvet matte liquid lipstick, so I doesn't dry down all the way and is not transfer proof. However, it is BY FAR my favorite at the moment! I picked up Foxy! And then for the gloss, I grabbed Georgia Peach. The name says it all, it's a gloss with a peachy tint. It's beautiful layered on top of other colors!
Not only did the line have makeup, they also had the beauty tools to help achieve any look you're going for! I grabbed their beauty sponge, s powder brush, and 2 eye brushes. The sponge did an awesome job. After dampening it, it grew to almost the size of my hand. Theres not a pointed tip like most beauty sponges on the market, however, there are 4 little points that do help get into those little spaces around your eyes and nose.
I've been using all 3 brushes everyday since I got them. I love using the powder brush for bronzer, it's just the perfect size to bronze up my face. The blending brush and flat shader brush also work amazingly to create the perfect eyeshadow look.
You need a setting spray to finish off any look, and they have one!! It is in a pump spray bottle so that is slightly annoying, but it still gets the job done! It does have a strong perfume like scent, so if that doesn't bother you, then this should be a great option for you!
And last but not least, they have makeup remover wipes!!😀 I go through makeup wipes like crazy. These guys do a great job at removing all of your makeup including mascara. They do have a strong rose scent and leave a bad taste on your lips. So after using them I did have to rinse my face off.
The Believe Beauty makeup line also offers eyebrow products, eyelashes, and nail polish. I did try the retractable eyebrow pencil, but I hated it, and threw it away after the first time i sat down to record (before i realized i couldn't save it). It was very waxy and felt thick on. I personally suck at falsies, so chose to not buy those. And then I have no need for nail polish, I just thought that I'd mention it!
I really hope yall enjoyed this review on Belive Beauty. I also wanted to mention that everything that I talked about today was $5 or less. And there are Dollar General stores literally everywhere. So you dont have to go bankrupt from buying crazy expensive makeup when you can get a full face for less than $70 that will last you for a while!
