🔑 Keys To Living A Content Lifestyle 🔑
Hey y'all, Happy Friday!! 😃 Stephen and I were talking the other day about our house, and all we've done to the place since we moved in. And he asked me, "at what point will you be content with the way it looks?!" And to be perfectly honest, I don't think I will ever be "content" when it comes to my home. I love changing things, adding things, and taking away things. I just love to be in a beautiful space, and over time your tastes or style evolve.
With that, my brain kicked into overdrive, and I started to think about life, and not settling, and am I content.... sounds like a country song.... 😂 So today's post was inspired by me and my husband having a conversation about our home!
Set Your Priorities. Priorities are very specific, so no one has the same. Like in last weeks post, "without organization, there is chaos". Setting your priorities in place is like putting together a plan. And walking around blindly, not having a plan can be dangerous. So sit down and write it out if you have to, just figure out what is most important to you! Only you can determine what thing, is more important than the next.
Stop Comparing. Playing the comparison game is not fun, trust me I've been there... 😩 And honestly, I can't tell you HOW to stop comparing, other than just stopping!! 😂 I know that sounds crazy, but it's one of those things that you will literally have to take control of, and say NO MORE! Ya know?! Like, while you're in the moment, right in the middle of a "comparison" type thought, just say STOP, and try to think on other things. Which leads me to the next....👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Count Your Blessings. When I say think on other things, I mean, count your blessings!😊 Think on all the good things in your life. Your spouse, kids, grandkids, your health, see what I'm saying?!! By you counting what you do have, and being thankful for what you have, it will kill comparison.
Pray For Change. I have said this numerous times before, but if you have a strong prayer life, you can change any situation that you're going through. Prayer is my life line to the source of life! I have written a few posts about prayer, how I pray, and how important prayer is. This is no different. If you're feeling like you just aren't happy with anything, pray for change. Ask God to help you be content!
Find Positive Friends. This is probably the toughest one on the list, no matter how true it is. Your closest circle of friends, play a huge roll in your life, and your thought process. So if you're hanging around a bunch of Negative Nancy's, that's not going to be good for you mentally or emotionally. Which will eventually take a toll on you physically... Sorry sis, 🤷🏼♀️ it is what it is... My friend, Faith, is probably the best example that I have. I just love to be around her because she's always so positive. She doesn't gossip or talk bad about people, and she laughs at my jokes! 😅 I mean what more could you ask for in a friend right?!! Seriously though, surround yourself with people that you want to be like.
What are some other ways that help you to be content in life? Would you say that these few that I listed are accurate? Let's talk in the comments!!
