🎉 My Birthday Surprise 🎉
Hello everyone!!😃 As most of you know my birthday was last week! Now I'm not normally someone who celebrates their birthday for an entire week, however, my husband was being a little sneaky snook!! 😅 With that, I wanted to share my birthday week with you, in a diary style.

On my actual birthday, Wed. May 20th, I woke up to gifts 🛍 and flowers 💐 on our kitchen island! Which is the best feeling in the world!😊 And since I'm basically a child, I had to open them right then and there! So at like 7:30 a.m. Stephen went and woke up the kids so that I could open the gifts from them. They picked out a cute notebook 📓 for me to write down my ideas in, along with a new pen 🖊 (they know I write things down constantly 😉). They also gave me a gift card 💳 to TJMaxx, (they also know where I like to shop!😅). And the big gift (which is what I asked for!!) I got a new vlogging 📷 camera!😃 My phone is not very old, but I have about run it into the ground. I am always starting new products, and recording the process. My phone has become so sluggish because of all the crap that I have on it. With me having a small camera, I can record everything that I want, plus take pics, AND not have to worry about my phone acting up!!
Later that afternoon, Stephen told me that he had another surprise for me! I was like, dooo whaaaaat?!!! 😃 But I won't get it til Friday. He told me that it's not anything huge or extravagant, but it is a night away from home, just me and him! 🤗 He had already set up for his parents to come stay with our kids, he had already asked off work, AND he already had our rooms reserved!! 😍 And since I now had a new camera I would be able to record our trip!
Friday rolled around, my inlaws arrived, and we left! We were only going to Little Rock, so its not like we had to drive too far. Along the way, it came a complete downpour, like just shy of a monsoon!!😳 I WAS NOT prepared for that type of weather, so I had to stop by Dillard's in the mall, to get a pair of jeans...🤦🏼♀️ While we were in the mall, we grabbed some lunch from the food court. All the tables and chairs were put away, because of covid, so we found a spot to post up and eat our food. As we were minding our own business, STANDING against a counter, eating our lunch, 2 mall cops approached us and said that we're not allowed to eat there... 🙄.... I was like, "well all the chairs are put away, so what were we supposed to do?". He then said, "ya know, i don't really know! Carry on!"..... 😂😂😂 So we hurried to finish our lunch, and left. We weren't trying to go to jail...
Check in was at 4, so we made our way to the hotel. Stephen got us a room at the downtown Marriott, right across from the river. The room was average size for a hotel room, and the view was kinda cool looking.
We checked in, then walked down to a little pub for a snack. We went to a place called, The Flying Saucer. It was still kinda early for dinner, so we shared an appetizer. We got the Cheese Fries Surprise.... yallll.... omg... those were hands down, the best cheese fries I've ever had!!🤤 Like I would drive to Little Rock just for those fries!!😅 I took a picture of the menu description so that i can make them at home.
Since we gorged ourselves, we decided to walk around down by the river, besides, there wasn't anything else going on. There were a lot of cool little memorials and walking trails, and a playground. We spent a couple hours just checking stuff out and taking pics. There weren't very many people out, so it was pretty quiet, well other than me and Stephen acting stupid!!😆
For dinner, the only other restaurant open for dine in, was The Flying Fish. We've eaten there before, so we kinda knew what to expect. Stephen got a lage catfish plate and I got some jalapeño poppers, so that we could share. (I normally don't eat a lot, thats why we share 😅) The catfish was good, but their hush puppies were the best!! The poppers that i got, eugh.... they weren't the best. My jalapeño wraps are way better, in my opinion. They were ok, but nothing that I'd order again.
The next morning, after we checked out, we stopped by Starbucks to grab coffee and a sausage muffin. Then went to a flooring warehouse to pick out new flooring for our home, and then headed back to Hot Springs. We still had a little time before our curfew was up, so we stopped in at our favorite Mexican food restaurant in town, and had chips and salsa. Right before heading to the house, we stopped at TJMaxx, you know that gift card was burning a hole in my pocket!!😂 I've never spent so much money on pillows, but that day I did!!🤑
As you can tell I ended up not vlogging the trip. I figured since Stephen and I don't get chances like this often, I would just snap pics instead of recording. And thats it y'all, thats how I spent my birthday this year! It was nothing spectacular, but i loved every bit of it!!😊 I hope y'all enjoyed today's post! See y'all next week!!
