What Happens In Vegas // Travel Diary
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! 😂 SIKE... Yall know I talk too much for that to apply to me! 😅 This particular weekend was an actual dream for me. We planned the whole trip around the fact that, at one point, I had mentioned that I would love to see George Strait live in concert! My number 1 bucket list artist was Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers; I saw them twice. My number 2 bucket list artist was The King Of Country, George Strait! 🤠 Today I'm adding Vegas to my Travel Diary Series!
We made it to the airport..
We landed in Denver, Colorado with an almost 2 hour layover. So we grabbed a small snack from one of the cafes there. (And I'm just now realizing that I didn't snap a quick pic...🤦🏼♀️...). Once we landed in Las Vegas, we booked an Uber and headed for our hotel!
Check-in wasn't til 3p.m. so we went to one of the restaurants on site for lunch. We went through an area called "Eatily", which had several different style cuisines, it was so cool. We went to an authentic Italian restaurant, and shared a pizza. And omg, it was one of the most delicious pizzas I've ever had!!
Room Tour!! We opted for 2 queens instead of a king, only because the 2 queens faced the strip!! 🤷🏼♀️😅 The room itself was pretty basic. We didn't even have a mini fridge. But the view was awesome!
We placed dinner reservations at 7p.m. at On Top of the World 2 weeks prior to the trip, so we didn't really have much time to walk around. We did venture to the Walgreens across the road to get hairspray (ours didn't make it through security check..😭). At dinner, I had salmon with rice. Stephen had a seafood platter of some kind.
After dinner we we had reservations to check out the David Copperfield show. It was pretty cool. I didn't get to take any pics or videos there. They had us put our phones in a box on our table. The pic of him below was sent in an email.
The doors for the concert didn't open til 6p.m. so we had the whole morning & afternoon to walk the strip & check out the local shops. We had lunch at The Hard Rock Cafe, and as usual, it was delicious! I had a chicken sandwich, Stephen had a burger. Since we signed up for their rewards program we got a free dessert! Stephen was in actual Heaven!🤣
It was close to 4p.m. by time we were done shopping 🛍 so we headed back to the room to get cleaned up and give our kiddos a call!
We were staying at the Park MGM and the doors to the T Mobile Arena was literally right beside our hotel, so that was cool. We had 2nd row seats which made the whole experience even better! I couldn't believe how close we were to the stage, like... 🤗 it was amazing!
Our flight was on Saturday morning around 11a.m. so we had to get up pretty early to get to the airport on time. Honestly we didn't plan enough time to do any major sight seeing, but we still had an amazing time! Have you been to Las Vegas? What are some things that we should plan for next time?!! With my usual travel diary inserts, I start with the actual traveling part ✈ So here we go!! Here in Alabama, we're not required to wear masks, and haven't been for a while, so we trashed ours months ago. So we had to stop in at a gas station to grab a few for the trip. And something you'd probably only see in Alabama... They were selling disposable masks in ziplocks for $1!..I was like..😳😂😷🤣
Friday morning Stephen went downstairs to the Starbucks for coffee and breakfast! Which we enjoyed infront of the window!
We found ourselves in a luxury shopping mall!!😍 I was in love!! We did pick up a few bits while we were there! And yesss... Stephen has joined me on the dark side!!🤗😂
The opening act was Catlin Smith.. I think.. I've never heard of her or her music. Then again I don't care for women singers either so..🤷🏼♀️
Then the King took the stage, and he did not disappoint! There wouldn't have been enough time in the night for him to sing all my favorites, but he did sing a good amount. It was truly an amazing night!!
